After two years of hard work, Greystones Community College has been announced a winner of the 'WellRead' National Award.
The PDST Wellread National Award was inaugurated in 2015 by the Professional Development Service for Teachers to honour the fantastic promotion of reading for pleasure by schools across the country.
The PDST Wellread National Award aims to promote the development of a reading culture in school communities because research has shown that this supports the personal and academic development of young people. The award requires the involvement of all stakeholders including students, teachers, parents, the board of management, and the wider community in reading and associated activities.
Congratulations to Ms. Puente, the Library Council, the members of the Readers and Writers Club and the members of staff and parent leadership team who work on the initative.
