Embracing technology is essential in education in the 21st century. Technology can bring many benefits to the classroom, but this has to be balanced with the drawbacks and distraction caused by excessive screen-time that many of our young people fall victim to. Greystones Community College has taken the approach that all students will have regular textbooks and copies for teaching and learning purposes. The students will have access to devices when required to enable them to access technology it proves beneficial.
The school is using Google Classroom as its teaching and learning platform. At present, students are receiving tutorials and training on the use of google for learning. All students have an email address to keep in communication with their teachers.
The school also offers courses in Digital Media Literacy and Coding for students to further enhance their skills.
