Jigsaw One Good School Initiative
Well done to the Jigsaw One Good School Team in Greystones Community College who organised a ‘walk and talk’ event this week. Work in supporting students' mental health remains a priority in the school and the event is part of a year-long calendar of events and awareness initiatives. Special thanks to Adam Burke from Jigsaw who launched the event and to Lidl Ireland for their sponsorship of the event also. The event saw students, staff and parents donning orange face paint and walking and talking with their peers and colleagues. Along the walk, conversation cues presented opportunities to open up conversations around mental health, the importance one good adult and the importance of sharing your feelings and thoughts with a person you trust.
Greystones Community College Incoming Students Information Session
This week, Greystones Community College hosted a very positive and enthusiastic meeting for incoming students and their parents and guardians as part of the Greystones Community College primary to post-primary transition programme. Lovely to see such large numbers in attendance. A special mention to the students and staff involved, whose informative input provided clarity and food for thought to those in attendance.
Bithéagsúlacht sa Nadúir sna Greystones Community College
As momentum builds towards Greystones Community College's Creative Schools Trasna na dTonnta Exhibition in May, the school were delighted to welcome Mr Ed Hick as a guest speaker this week. Ed provided a very interesting talk to 2nd year rang Gaeilge on the topic of bithéagsúlacht sa nadúir (Biodiversity in nature) with a focus on sea and coastal projects. The talk also formed part of Greystones Community College's calendar of activities for Seachtain na Gaeilge this week. Many thanks to Ed for his time and his enthusiasm. Feedback from the students showed that they take great pride in their school's coastal setting and the biodiversity to be discovered here. Go raibh míle maith agat Ed Hick as do chur i láthair agus tar air ais go luath.
