Sports Update at GCC
It has been a very successful week for Greystones Community College in respect of sport! A strong team performance saw the 1st Year boys' basketball team get off to a winning start against Presentation Community College Terenure. Congratulations also due to GCC’s Junior Ladies Gaelic Footballers who had a great win against neighbours from St. David’s Holy Faith Secondary School at Éire Óg Greystones GAA Club this week - well done girls. In boys' football, the school also saw a fantastic 4-3 win against Coláiste Ráithín. There was an outstanding performance from Man of the Match, Alex Cole who scored a hat trick and from Callum Halpin Rooney with another fantastic goal. All in all, hard work and team effort has paid off for all the athletes and the school takes great pride in their achievements.
GCC at BTYSTE
Greystones Community College are very proud of entrants in the National Final of the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition in the RDS this week. Jack, Oisin and Jack did an outstanding job representing Greystones Community College at this national event and their entry in the chemical, practical and mathematical section exploring the behaviour of alpha particles garnered much interest from schools and industry alike.
Primary Transition to GCC 2023
An overview of the transition steps to post primary school has been issued to all 6th class students who have been offered a place at Greystones Community College. Study Skills Workshops for Students and Guardians
A series of free online workshops, facilitated by the Wexford Education Centre will take place on Tuesday evenings over the coming weeks. The sessions aim to support students and their parents to develop positive learning and study habits and would certainly be of benefit to all.
