Parent Teacher Student Meetings

On Thursday 29th November, Greystones Community College hosted its first night this year of Parent Student Teacher meetings for 3rd Year Students. With meetings now scheduled in-person, time was afforded to students and families to meet with all teachers. After a number of years of online meetings, it was wonderful to see the school abuzz with members of the school community circulating again. PTS meeting form an integral part of our students' academic progress and provides a valuable opportunity for all those committed to our students' success to discuss and work together to help them achieve their goals. GCC looks forward to the 2nd year and 1st Year PSTMs, which will take place in December and January, respectively.

Another successful and creative subject-themed week has drawn to a close in Greystones Community College. Students in all year groups keenly participated in a range of events to grow their existing knowledge and to learn more about the many fascinating elements of Geography. With aerial photography and GPS navigational activities arranged, as well as a number of prizes up for grabs, Geography Week proved to be a huge success at the College!

GCC EAL students at Greystones Library

This week, students of English as an Additional Language in Greystones Community College became members of Wicklow Libraries. Catherine at Greystones Library guided the students through the library facilities and provided and overview of the physical and digital resources available there. This was the first of many upcoming visits, with plans for further study and learning opportunities for EAL students scheduled throughout the year. Many thanks to Catherine and all at Wicklow Libraries for their time and commitment.

Sports Update at GCC

This week, Greystones Community College opened the minor league football competition. The girls controlled the first half and led by three goals at half time. Unfortunate second-half injuries allowed the opposing team to recover, and the game ended with a score of 5-4. Congratulations to all participating girls, and many thanks to Loreto Bray for a great game.
