On Friday 12th September 2025, Tánaiste Simon Harris TD visited the permanent building for Greystones Community College where work has been underway for the past 13 months on the construction of the 1000 pupil state of the art school. As the project nears completion, the Tánaiste said "This project is a significant investment in the future of Greystones. I am proud to have worked closely with the dedicated school management team, local families and the Department of Education to help deliver this much needed facility".
"The new building will be a significant step up for the community and is set to cater for the growth we've seen in our community and will be a place where students can reach their full potential for years to come".
The permanent school building is expected to be completed in Q4 2025. The site visit included a tour of the construction works and discussions on the final phases of development with BOM Chairperson Cllr Louise Fenelon Gaskin and Principal Ruairi Farrell along with Head Students Naomi Wall and Callum Halpin Rooney.
