Greystones students receive highest mark in Ireland
Greystones Community College students have been acknowledged as 'Joint Top Students' in Ireland based on their performance in the Junior Cycle Technology State Examination 2023.
Zac Tarbett Kahn and Andrew Gaube were presented with gold medals to mark this achievement at the Engineering Technology Teachers Association Annual Conference held in Atlantic Technological University Sligo last weekend.
This incredible acknowledgement rewards Zac and Andrew's hard work and dedication over 3 years which culminated in them achieving the joint highest grade in the country. Credit also to their teacher Mr. Doyle who supported them to achieve at this level.
Principal Ruairi Farrell expressed his delight at this double achievement. “It takes a very special student, an exceptional teacher and the right learning environment to reach this level of success. Both Zac and Andrew are very unassuming students who quietly and diligently went about their work”. This academic achievement for Greystones Community College is on the back of the achievement of previous Junior Cycle student Ella Macek who achieved the second highest grade in Ireland in Junior Cycle Graphics in 2023. “It is amazing to see our students securing this success on the national stage”.
