Greystones Community College Annual Awards Ceremony 2022
This week, Greystones Community College held a fabulous awards ceremony to acknowledge and recognise the many successes and achievements of the students during the academic year. Thank you to all the parents and guardians who joined the live stream in their droves and to all the students involved in the different reflections, symbol presentations and musical performances. Congratulations to all winners of the subject awards, extra-curricular and sports awards and leadership awards. Special mention to our Buaic Chloch Student of the Year award winners, our Bunchloch foundation stone award winners and our student choice award recipients: Buaic Chloch Students of the Year 2022: 1st Year - Morgan Durston and Abigail Langrell, 2nd Year - Andrew Gaube and Isabella Di Ruzza. Bunchloch Foundation Stone Award Winners 2022: Respect - Saoirse McGann and Matthew Ryan, Excellence - Ena Dowling and Yasmine Judge, Pride - Ronan McGuigan and Amber Kilkenny. Student Choice Award 2022: 1st Year - Jane Pan and 2nd Year - Sofia Flores. All these award winners embody the core values of our college - #Respect #Excellence #Pride.
Greystones Community College Website now available in Ukranian
The Greystones Community College website (www.greystonescollege.ie) has now had a Google language selector option added to allow the page to be translated into Ukrainian along with other languages. We are delighted that our school has become a local hub for English language classes for those who have recently relocated to the Greystones area with thanks to the support of Bray Adult Learning Centre and Kildare and Wicklow ETB. Greystones Community College Hiking Club
Members of the Greystones Community College Hiking Club have been involved in the Amber Flag initiative and this week, undertook a hike taking in the sights of the Spinc and Miners Village in Glendalough. Fabulous weather and lovely views were enjoyed by all. Thanks to Ms. Byrne and Mr. Byrne for leading the Hiking Club on their many outings this year.
Greystones Community College Sports Day 2022
Greystones Community College saw an absolutely fantastic day with excellent participation and sportsmanship from all students and great involvement from the staff. With team events such as Dodgeball, Tug of War and Relays and Novelty Events such as potato and spoon and the wheelbarrow race, there really was something for everyone. Students had the opportunity to participate in individual events such as Hang Tough, Mini Golf, The Plank and an Obstacle course along with the competitive events such as the sprints and distance races which all made it a day to remember.
Thanks to the Parent Leadership Team for their support and to everyone for their positive participation, energy and enthusiasm. Thanks to Éire Óg Greystones GAA Club for the use of their facilities. Lovely to have a visit from the Ice Cream Van also!
